Photocopying, Printing & Scanning
Photocopiers, printers, and scanners are available at each library location. Microform reader-printers are available at the Harriet Irving Library and the Ward Chipman Library. Print Credit System: Each of our locations offers printing using UNB’s Print Credit system for students. Further information on print credits is available at Printing and Publishing Services at UNB (Fredericton) and Printing and Scanning (Saint John).

- Photocopying:
- The HIL Photocopy Room is located at the back of the second floor. One coin-op machine accepts 5¢, 10¢, 25¢ and $1.00 coins. Other machines accept Copy Cards, which are sold at the Commons Services Desk at a cost of $5.00 for 35 copies and $20.00 for 206 copies. These prices include a $1 refundable deposit. Double-side copying is not available.
- Printing:
- Printing from Public Access Computers requires a copy card, as described above. Public access computers are available on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors of HIL.
- Printing from personal laptops, library laptops, and most computers in the Learning Commons use the print credit system.
- Colour printing, and double-sided printing is available in the Learning Commons through the print credit system.
- Scanning:
- A self-service scanner is available in the Learning Commons at no charge.
- Microforms:
- Microform printer-readers are available in the Microforms Dept. on the 3rd floor of HIL.

- You will need to purchase a Copy Card from the Services Desk to use the photocopiers. Copy cards are sold at a cost of $5.00 for 35 copies and $20.00 for 206 copies. These prices include a $1 refundable deposit. Charges for each side are applied.
- Printing:
- Printing from Public Access Computers requires a copy card, as described above. Printing from personal laptops and library laptops uses the print credit system. The Science & Forestry Library offers double-sided colour printing.
- Scanning:
- A self-service scanner is available at no charge.

- Photocopying is available for students using the Print Credit system. Alternatively, you can purchase a special Copy Card from the Service Desk at a cost of $5.00 for 35 copies and $20.00 for 206 copies. A $1.00 refund is available for used cards. Double-side copying is available. Charges for each side are applied.
- Printing:
- Printing from library-owned or personal laptops and from general purpose computers uses the Print Credit system. Printing from the Express PCs in the library lobby requires a copy card.
- Scanning:
- A self-service scanner is available at no charge.
Saint John

- Photocopying:
- You will need to purchase a Copy Card from the Circulation Desk to use the photocopiers at a cost of $6 for 53 copies or $11 for 106 copies. These prices include a $1 refundable deposit. If you wish to copy onto an overhead transparency, the transparency must be purchased at the Circulation Desk at a cost of 60 cents per page.
- Printing:
- Printing from library computers uses Print Credit system.
- Scanners:
- Six scanners are connected to computers in the Learning Commons. If you require assistance with the scanners, please ask at the ITS Helpdesk, which is also located in the Learning Commons.
