Manage Course Reserves
Course instructors are encouraged to place materials on Reserve in any of our libraries. The Course Reserves Service helps ensure student access to required reading / viewing materials by taking high-demand items out of regular circulation. Course Reserves also allow students to easily search and retrieve course material.
Library books, photocopies of articles (within copyright limitations), personal copies of books, solutions and notes for a specific course are the items most commonly identified for Reserve.
Procedures for Course Instructors:
Our Reserves Service works best if instructors submit requests at least three days prior to expected use in the library. Please be prepared with the following information when placing material on Reserve:
- Instructor's barcode from a valid University ID;
- Course number and title as stated in the University Calendar;
- Desired Reserve loan period;
- Title of Reserve item (this is particularly important for files containing more than one reading or set of course notes);
- effective dates for the Reserve (if no removal date is given the Reserve will be removed after the last day of the term).
