Welcome
The John B. McNair Learning Commons is a vibrant, student-centered learning space encompassing the first floor of the Harriet Irving Library. We offer an enriched learning environment for students incorporating service points, social learning space, technology, and study space for individuals and groups. The space is designed to provide comfortable and well-equipped surroundings conducive to learning.
Highlights of the Learning Commons include group study rooms, enhanced workstations supporting a suite of software, viewing stations to access multimedia resources in the library’s collection, an Accessibility Centre and the Commons Café. Collaborating with the Library to offer services in the Learning Commons are UNB’s ITS Services, Student Affairs & Services and Writing Centre.
- Phase Two Renovations Begin
- Renovations begin on March 7 in the Harriet Irving Library to make way for new group study rooms. The area affected is on the main floor and includes the Demo Room and adjacent offices.
- Thank you for your patience as HIL moves forward with Phase Two of our Learning Commons project.
Information sessions about our new Learning Commons are underway around the campus. These sessions are designed to inform interested parties of our progress and to gather feedback about our plans.
