About: The TAPoR Project
TAPoR is a collaborative venture involving leading researchers and electronic text research centres from across Canada. It will provide a platform for sophisticated text analysis through access to tools and support for the development of electronic text collections, software for text analysis, and representative texts for experimentation. Six regional centres will each provide expertise and research facilities to support local projects and initiatives. Together, they will contribute to a large-scale portal that will allow unified access to shared resources, including software, texts and documentation.
TAPoR gratefully acknowledges the support of the Canada Foundation for Innovation. The total budget for the project is $6,784,740. Total CFI contribution will be $2,629,223.

Research Facilities
Each TAPoR node provides computing resources to support researchers and projects in the local community. These resources include text research laboratories with best-of-breed software and full-text servers that will be coordinated into a vertical portal for the study of electronic texts. Each node is characterized by the interests and strengths of its local research culture and, thus, facilities will vary with each local centre.
TAPoR resources at UNB include:
The ETC can provide consultation and assistance for TAPoR researchers requiring use of the lab or servers. To find out more about becoming a TAPoR researcher, check the research protocol and application, or contact us for more information.
